Historic Atlas Coal Museum

A National Historic Site of Canada

Located 14 km east of Drumheller near East Coulee

Discover the past when Coal was King!

Tipple
Climb the 8-storey tipple for a bird's-eye view of the mine site and the Drumheller Valley -- does it really sway at the top? This is the only one left in Canada.

Creep through the dark of a simulated mine -- safer than going underground, but just as much fun!

Enter an original miner's shack, built of straw, mud, and manure

Miners Shack

Visit original mine offices, complete with original records from 140 different coal mines. See a wash house one of the most complete in existence.
